AET Group Inc. Recognized as One of Canada’s Greenest Employers 2024
We are honoured to announce that for the 6th consecutive year, AET was recognized as one of Canada’s Greenest Employers 2024. Now in its 17th year, Canada’s Greenest Employers is an editorial competition organized by the Canada’s Top 100 Employers project. This special designation recognizes the employers that lead the nation in creating a culture of environmental awareness. These employers have developed exceptional sustainability initiatives – and are attracting people to their organizations because of their environmental leadership. Winning employers, selected by editors of Canada’s Top 100 Employers, are evaluated using four main criteria:
- Unique environmental initiatives or programs they have developed.
- Whether they have been successful in reducing their own environmental footprint.
- Whether their employees are involved in these programs and contribute unique skills.
- Whether the environmental initiatives have become part of an employer’s public identity, attracting new employees and customers.
“The common thread that runs through this year’s winners is that they listen to the employees who care most about implementing green initiatives and encourage them to lead the conversation,” says Chantel Watkins, assistant editor at Mediacorp. “By giving a voice to local champions, the staff members who are most passionate about the environment get the ball rolling on workplace initiatives that can make a significant difference.”
AET is committed to giving back to the people and places in which we work. Through environmental stewardship, we continually provide resources throughout our company to support local organizations and charitable events. We are committed to conducting our business in a manner that has a positive impact on the communities in which we live and work. Our sustainability commitments focus on our ecological, financial, and social responsibilities that supports an improved quality of life.
AET was recognized in the 2024 competition due to our outdoor space that includes a naturalized front garden that features native plant species to eliminate the need for pesticides, permeable paving in our back parking lot to reduce runoff into storm sewers and a roof-mounted solar array with EV charging stations. AET added a hybrid truck to our corporate fleet, and our Sustainable Transportation Program, which provides subsidies for employees for the purchase of alternative and fuel-efficient vehicles (up to $2,500).
