AET Group Achieves Accreditation as a Validation and Verification Body under ISO 14065

We are proud to announce that AET Group Inc. is accredited under ISO 14065 as a Validation and Verification Body (VVB) by the Standards Council of Canada (SCC). This accreditation aligns with the ISO 17029:2019 standard, which sets global requirements for third-party validation and verification of greenhouse gas emissions. 

What Does This Accreditation Mean? 

Achieving this accreditation signifies that AET Group meets the highest international standards for validating and verifying GHG emissions and environmental data. It demonstrates our ability to provide credible, independent, and high-quality services to support organizations in: 

• Ensuring compliance: Meeting regulatory requirements and industry standards.

Verification of Regulatory Programs and Voluntary Offset Programs 

As part of our accreditation, AET Group is qualified to verify compliance with various regulatory programs and voluntary initiatives, ensuring organizations meet stringent requirements and achieve their climate goals.  

Canadian Regulatory Programs: 

• Emissions Performance Standards (EPS): Ensuring compliance with Ontario’s Emissions Performance Standards, which regulate GHG emissions from stationary sources, including industrial facilities and commercial buildings. 

• Alberta TIER Regulations: Helping businesses adhere to Alberta’s Technology Innovation and Emissions Reduction (TIER) regulations by setting and achieving GHG reduction targets based on their specific industry and size. 

• Clean Fuel Regulations (CFR): Assisting fuel producers, importers, and suppliers in complying with Canada’s Clean Fuel Regulations, which aim to reduce the carbon intensity of transportation fuels. 

• Output-Based Pricing System (OBPS): Supporting large emitters in the electricity sector to comply with Canada’s OBPS, a carbon pricing system designed to reduce GHG emissions from the power sector. 

Voluntary 

• Voluntary Offset Programs: Evaluating and verifying carbon offset projects to ensure they meet rigorous standards and provide credible, measurable emissions reductions.  

• AET Group supports projects verified under frameworks like the Verified Carbon Standard (VCS) program managed by Verra.
