Solar Project
To achieve our goal of becoming Carbon Neutral by 2030, AET completed a large project to reduce our carbon footprint in late 2019.
The project includes a 15.12 kWh roof-mounted solar photovoltaic system that will generate 106% of the energy needed to operate the building and an expected year 1 production of 15,194 kWh, completed with a Tesla Powerwall to store P.V. power for use during peak energy times or energy disruption. This solar system will comprise of 31 modules, with approximately 89% efficiency, on the roof of the building to produce clean energy for the office space. AET’s solar system will offset carbon emissions equivalent to planting 7,117 trees, driving 22,901 fewer miles per year, or taking 60 cars off the road. With this solar installation project, AET will be able to prevent the burning of over 7000 pounds of coal, or the equivalent of 424 barrels of oil saved every year, or 189,151,476 cubic feet natural gas!
AET’s solar project also included the purchase and installation of a FLO dual-head side by side EV charging station to support our growing fleet of Hybrid plug in vehicles and to promote the purchase of electric vehicles for company staff, as part of the Sustainable Transportation Program.
This EV charging station is powered by the solar array!
