Fleet Upgrade
Due to the nature of our work, AET staff spend a lot of time on the road and a large portion of our carbon emissions are the result of business travel and employee commuting.
In order to address this issue, in 2015 we began upgrading our work fleet with more fuel-efficient vehicles. We replaced a 2009 Toyota Tundra and two 2009 Toyota Tacoma trucks for Ford F-150 trucks that run using Ford’s patented EcoBoost engine. To further reduce our footprint, in 2018 and 2019 we replaced our 2013 and 2014 Ford Escapes with a 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Plug-in Hybrids.
These upgrades will reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 8.4 Metric Tons per year and lead to a reduction of our annual petroleum consumption by approximately 861 Gallons. Moving forward, we plan to continue upgrading our fleet with more environmentally friendly vehicles as they become available.
