Home Flood Assessments – Saskatoon
Location: Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
Client: City of Saskatoon
Date: 2018
In 2018, after multiple extreme weather events that exposed hundreds of properties to surface flooding, and the success of the Home Flood Protection Program in Ontario, The City of Saskatoon and SGI Canada teamed up with the University of Waterloo’s Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation to sponsor 400 Home Flood Protection Assessments for Saskatoon Residents.
AET’s trained Home Flood Protection Assessors worked with homeowners to complete an interactive 50-point visual assessment of potential sources of water entry into the home and reviewed their preventative maintenance practices. The residents were also provided with resources and information to start implementing these recommendations.
With the frequency and severity of extreme weather events on the rise, AET is proud to be working with residents to help them safeguard their properties against basement flooding.
Client Testimonials:
“A home flood takes its emotional toll. The best course of action is to prevent an event from happening in the first place.”
“You have to be proactive as a homeowner. Spending a few hundred or even a few thousand dollars to protect your property is much better than having to spend tens of thousands of dollars on a clean up after water damage has already occurred.”
