LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification can often be a challenging process but can be a rewarding result.

AET’s LEED Accredited Professionals can facilitate and collaborate with all project team members to successfully meet sustainable building project goals.  LEED certification provides a framework for high performance buildings which offer environmental, social and governance benefits and contribute toward meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

What is LEED?

LEED is an internationally recognized third-party certification program for buildings and homes and is one of the more recognized green building certifications. Known for highlighting building performance, LEED Certified buildings are known for retaining longer tenant retention, increasing productivity on site and reduced vacancies.  LEED adopts a holistic approach to sustainability, accounting for the following eight categories:

  1. Location and transportation
  2. Sustainable sites
  3. Water efficiency
  4. Energy and atmosphere
  5. Materials and resources
  6. Indoor environmental quality
  7. Innovation
  8. Regional priority

LEED certifications are available for all types of building phases including new construction, interior fit outs, operations and maintenance and core and shell.  Depending on the building/project type, different standards and requirements apply.

AET can assist with various aspects of the certification process including support with energy audits, indoor air quality testing, and waste auditing and reduction planning, for both first time and recertification projects. LEED’s newest version, v4.1 focuses on a buildings operational data, showing how the building performs in its current state. Let AET assist you in joining the prestigious group of LEED Certified buildings.
